Who We Are

Phil (REEF)

Philip GrimaReef is a 42 year old father of three who has enjoyed service in the Royal Navy. He spent many years as a chef in civilian life but fancied a change, so studied Animal Behaviour and Welfare at Reaseheath College to gain the valuable knowledge needed to start Reef's Reptiles. Reef has had a passion for reptiles from an early age. This stemmed from early years in Malta where there are many wild reptiles to be found. At the age of 17 Reef bought his first snake, a 12' Burmese python named Costus. Over the years he has built up various reptile collections which have included Water dragons, Iguanas, Geckos', Bearded dragons and various other lizards. His interest spread to invertebrates and he now owns several Tarantulas, Scorpions and many others.

Liz

Elizabeth StringerLiz is a 45 year old mother of three grown up children who has always had a love of nature and animals. A passion for the more weird and wonderful creatures has developed since first encountering a wild chameleon and Liz is now our chameleon expert. Liz is a keen artist and when she has finished the care routine of our animals, you may find her studying and drawing them. Even at the reptile parties she comes armed with paints where she turns her creative abilities to face painting.
