|Hale Carnival was a huge sucsess! The morning was bright and sunny. Then it happened....the heavens opened and the rain came down in sheets...which could well have put a dampener on the whole day. |
We arrived at Hale park and drove across the grass to our marquee, past people in rain macs, setting up stalls...rain pouring down their faces. Peter Platt was stood in our marquee positioning poles to draining the rain water off the heavily waterladen, sagging roof. Water sloshed down onto the floor. Everyone kept looking for that elusive bit of blue sky with fingers crossed....now as it happens, the sun came out just in time for the start of the carnival.
People arrived slowly at first so I took Osca our bosc monitor out for a stroll in the sunshine. He was quite interested and stalked about exploring, with me close behind so he didnt get into mischeif. Reef put Albi the python out on the grass to, to enjoy the sunhine. I hardly got chance to move from the tent after that as more and more people arrived to see the animals. Good job we had our extra helper Dan with us. It was great that soo many people said they recognised us from last year! Everyone was really interested and asking loads of questions! I was buzzing!
It was a long day though and we were glad to get home and sort the animals out back into their homes again. There were some fantastic photos taken over the course of the day (not by us LOL) of the 'quack pack' the birds of prey, the pigs and Reef with Albi! as well as lots of the other wonderful attractions. There are a couple of photographs on our Face Book page!
